If you observe any equine which you believe is not receiving proper care or which is being abused, please contact the NCHC via this online equine cruelty complaint form.
Please note::
- NCHC does not conduct investigations into allegations of abuse or neglect. If an equine is in need of immediate assistance, please call your local animal control or police department.
- The NCHC serves only as a conduit where reports are collected and then transmitted to other individuals, agencies or nonprofits who will conduct the necessary investigations and take whatever action they deem appropriate under the circumstances.
- Please submit in your report as many detail(s) as possible in order to provide investigators with as much information as possible. It is very important that you list the COUNTY in which the abuse or neglect is taking place.

NCHC does not investigate allegations of equine abuse or neglect. We are providing this electronic form as a means of hopefully assisting you with getting the necessary information to the correct individuals, agencies or nonprofitsin order for them to investigate the allegations where appropriate. By providing this service, we hope to become a central receiving site and conduitfor these types of complaints in North Carolina. Due to the confidential nature of these types of investigations, you will not receive any information regarding to whom your report was forwarded or the results of any investigation into your report.
